The SU London Academic Experience

Students attend a lecture at Faraday HouseThe SU London curriculum is designed to give students the opportunity to continue their undergraduate and graduate degrees in London, and to provide unique academic opportunities whilst allowing students to take as much advantage as possible of their time abroad. An extensive selection of liberal arts and pre-professional courses is offered each semester, ranging from survey courses in fields such as art history, politics and sociology to highly specialized courses in design, photojournalism and architecture. The courses are designed to make as much use as possible of London’s unique resources and opportunities, integrating them whenever possible into the curriculum, be it through class visits, guest speakers or case studies.

The faculty come from a variety of British academic institutions, including University College London, the London School of Economics and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Others, particularly those teaching Newhouse and Law classes, are professionals in their respective fields, and are joined by visiting faculty from the main campus. All of the faculty are aware of the pressures and demands of studying in a foreign environment, and are supported by the academic staff and The SU London Writing Centre in their efforts to make the students’ academic experiences as valuable and rewarding as possible.
