Ella Finer (HOM300 Performance Live)

Ella Finer is a writer, artist and lecturer whose practice in theatre, photography and sound explores the relationship of the gendered body and voice. She completed her PhD at the University of Roehampton in Performance Studies in 2012 and has presented her scholarly work at symposia across the UK and internationally. She has taught across the fields of performance, gender and sound at Roehampton University, Kingston University and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, as well as independently facilitating symposia and workshops for postgraduate students interested in the interdisciplinary subject of Sound. Recent projects include solo exhibition Where We Meet, Volumes 1 and 2 at Galerie8, London Fields and the ongoing experimental project O at Baltic|39, Newcastle, testing how a sound work can make itself through unmaking itself: playing a record continuously until it is played out. ejfiner@syr.edu
