Cardiff has been Wales’ capital since 1955 and now hosts the Senedd, home to the Welsh Assembly (the country’s National Parliament). Its gorgeous waterfront also boasts the Wales Millennium Centre arts complex and a plaza named after children’s author Roald Dahl. Cardiff’s city centre includes the BBC drama village, a Norman Castle built over a Roman fort, and the Principality Stadium for rugby. Nearby is the Big Pit Museum in a working coal mine and the beautiful Brecon Beacons, both of which students on this trip will have the opportunity to visit.
Other common trip highlights:
- a behind-the-scenes tour of the Principality Stadium to learn the rules of rugby
- a theatre production at the Wales Millennium Centre
- a wander through the iconic Animal Walk, lifelike sculptures in stone
