Meet Dr Hammer

Dr Kate Hammer FRSA, our Learning Advocate, graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a B.A. Hons in Semiotics. She holds a Ph.D. in Drama and Theatre Studies from Roehampton, where she taught intermittently 1997-2014. Committed to lifelong learning, Kate earned a postgraduate certificate in Business and Individual Coaching in 2017, and has also studied Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and psychotherapy at the postgraduate level.

A skilled writer, Kate has published in American Theatre Magazine, Contemporary Theatre Review and her TDR cover article was anthologised. She is currently working on her first novel, having been signed by A.M. Heath in late 2016.

Kate’s international reputation in the fields of workplace creativity and commercial story design has led to keynotes in Europe and North America, guest lecturing at Cambridge University’s Judge Business School, Austrian Marketing University, Notre Dame University’s iVia executive education and Rotman School of Management in Toronto. In 2015, Canadian Professor Emeritus Min Basadur at McMaster University named Kate a Senior Research Fellow of The Centre for Research in Applied Creativity in Ontario.
